Most people I know hang things off of their rear view mirror, but i know it's illegal or has to be within standards or something... I know it's not a big deal but i don't want a stupid reason to get pulled over by a jerk cop lol. So what are the 'rules and regulations' for hanging things (i.e, air fresheners, graduation tassels..) off of your rear view mirror in Pittsburgh,Pa ? Thanks!|||This is one of the things that if you think it might be wrong, then dont do it. Almost every state has a law that addresses blocked vision through the windshield. I would say check with the state, but there may be a law in the city or county that will get you pulled over. A stick of gum help up in front of you can block many things that you should see, such as a motorcycle. Best bet is find some other way to look cool and be safe.|||I don't know the official law, BUT you "will" fail PA Safety Inspections with ANYTHING hanging on your rear-view mirror. Most garages would either A) take if off and tell you, or B) don't even pay attention to it. My mother was shown where this is part of the PA Inspection book(whatever exactly the mechanics use as far as title) and that it is considered failure to have anything hanging off the mirror, now when you are driving I don't know if they have a law that nothing can be hanging or not. On the other hand the fact that it goes against safety inspection may be enough for a cop looking for a reason. I live in PA so this isn't just saying oh someone told me or oh in this State this happens type of thing either. The guy who showed her is basically a small time mechanic who has a license to do inspections(think he only did safety, don't think he did emissions) so he was more precise then a lot of places probably would end up being.|||well if we talk about rules and regulations of Pittsburgh than I must say Pittsburgh is well known for its values, customs, rules and its illegal there(as far as my knowledge is concern) I read this:
