Back in the 1960's my father and a couple coworkers would drive from Columbus, OH to Pittsburgh to watch a Saturday night and Sunday afternoon Pirates game at Forbes Field. He recalls that they always stayed at the same popular hotel across from Forbes field, but can't remember the name of the hotel. It's one of those things that's going to drive him crazy so I told him I would find a trivia board online and see of any long-time Pirates fans remember the name of the hotel across from Forbes Field. Is it still there?|||The William Pitt Union was originally the Hotel Schenley, which was built in 1898. It was one of the first improvements to be made to the area, back when it was sort of a rural area. Visiting baseball teams stayed at the Hotel Schenley during their visits to Pittsburgh.
