I think it is a great city to live in. Very walkable, nice neighborhoods. Brookline has to be one of the nicest and most walkable neighborhoods in the city. About 2 miles from the Downtown area with many schools. Brookline K-8, West Liberty, South Brook, and Carmalt K-8 are in the Brookline region of town. Teenagers in Brookline would go to Brashear High School which is located in Beechview, one neighborhood over from Brookline. The school towers over Mt. Washington which is across Route-51, and you can even see the top 5 stories of the US Steel Tower. Other great parts of the city would be Downtown itself, with its amazing skyline, and walkable streets. Also the Mosty Livable City in the United States. I suggest if anyone is planning on moving to the Pittsburgh region of Pennsylvania, you can find great housing, and great people in Brookine. House prices range from around 70,000 to 150,000 depending on the house. What do you all think about Pittsburgh?|||I'm really glad you posted, Sean. I currently live on the west coast and am considering a move to PA-- very likely the outskirts of Pittsburgh. I've been doing my research and really like what I see. And the winters don't discourage me at all... I love the snow (and rain, sleet, extreme cold, etc!)
Another thing I appreciate is the proximity to virtually everything there is to do or see on the east coast! New York, D.C., VA etc So many great (as well as historical) places are only 2+ hours away!
It's great to hear such positive remarks from a proud local! Thank You!|||It is a decent city compared to Baghdad. Are you serious? Did you forget those wonderful winters already? Okay it has Youngstown beat. The homes are cheap, because no one wants to live there. It is not the garden spot of america.
