I'm a Pittsburgh Penguins fan who has been transplanted to SC so I don't get to hear much about my Pens. Whats up with them? Whats wrong?|||The effects of last spring's eight week playoff run are starting to hit home (i.e. fatigue...both physical and mental).
A loss of character guys (Armstrong, Malone) and their resident policeman (Laraque).
Their captain has, at times, not been as strong of a leader as he should be.
Not sure if sacking the coach is a cure-all; it might help in the short run, but long term...not sure.
Either way, if they get in the playoffs they have a ton of guys with experience so this won't be a new experience for them.|||Cup Finals Hangover with very long playoff run.
Losing key players and that Europe start after a very long playoff.|||their beating nashville right now 1- 0|||Because Marian Hossa and Ty Conklin signed with the Red Wings and the rest of the Penguins are sad....|||They played really well against Atlanta, but they were never really hard for the Pens to play against, in my opinion.
& regardless of the lose, I believe the Pens played with their hearts tonight. Even without Tenko and Dupuis.|||crosby seems to think hes a tough guy now hes jumped a guy, delivered a low blow to another and can be seen running his mouth to everyteams enforcer but not backin it up he needs to worry about scoring|||defense.|||watch the canes. cindy can't live up to the hype.|||They finally realized that they can't compete with the Red Wings ;)
Glen Greene -- If it's a hangover, why are the Red Wings doing so well?|||I give up answering this question cause i honestly have no idea anymore...|||Pittsburgh has currently been on a long and terrible stretch of games, especially on home ice. The secondary scoring players have died off in their good intensive play and Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin have let the frustrations of a few losses get to their heads which means they are now starting to struggle. Of course, you can't always carry a team on your back alone. Their frustration is losing them games. They're just not playing smart hockey.|||i agree with john d
scoring is not the problem, its the D
Believe it or not Gonchar is a PLUS player, that means, not only does he score, but he keeps the puck out of his zone, which creates scoring chances
Watch a pens game the puck is constantly in their own zone, its gut wrenching if you are a pens fan.
dont forget about whitney, that's 2 star d-men out, that's the problem
Same problem in Ottawa!
