I am a single 25 yr old female moving to Pittsburgh, PA for a year for work and I am very unfamiliar with the city and need to know some popular, but nice and clean, neighborhoods for a someone who wants to really take advantage of Pittsburg nightlife and what the city has to offer. I do not know anyone in the city so I'm looking to live somewhere where I can make friends. Any suggestions are welcome. Also please feel free to suggest some nice apartments too!|||The Southside of Pittsburgh offers many aspects, its East Carson St. which has many bars and clubs. In the heart of the Southside the is a brand-new strip mall called the Southside Works it has many great resturants( THE CHEESECAKE FACTORTY) is just one of many. there is a town house complex right in the heart of Southside Works area. In addition East Carson street has a wide array of apartments ands condos, it all depends on what your willing to spend Southside has beautiful apartments and some hole-in-the-wall ones. THE SOUTHSIDE IS AN AMAZING AREA WITH LOTS OF NIGHTLIFE AND YOUNG PEOPLE

Also SHADYSIDE is a very cool area a little more up-scale with ivy covered apartment builings and stores. The shopping in the shadyside is also a litlle more pricey with boutiques and stuff. The resturant and bars in Shadyside are modern and unique which makes it a very popoular neighborhood.

OAKLAND is also popular it has alot of apartments for young people like college students for: PITT CARNEGIE MELLON AND CARLOW. OAKLAND is a cool little city inside of a city with a lot of resturants and shops I WENT TO SCHOOL IN OAKLAND, I LOVED THE ATMOSPHERE!!!

FINALLY... MT. Washington is a neat PGH area it has beautiful apartments with studding views of the whole city this is a very scenic part of town with cool resturant and some bars. Some of there apartsments are costly and some are cheap. YOu just have to shop around.

I'M SRY IF ITS A LITTLE LONG BUT I WANTED TO HELP YOU OUT AS MUCH AS I COULD B/C I WAS IN UR SHOES

i hope this helps|||Southside, Strip District...some parts are iffy for night though. Shadyside. Oakland. East Liberty....hahahaha just kidding.|||North Shore, Strip District, Mt. Washington.|||This really is two separate questions. The best places for nightlife are not necessarily the best places to live.

Nightlife: Strip District, South Side

Living: Shadyside, Squirrel Hill, most of the North Hills, most of the South Hills, Monroeville, Sewickley
